Condolence From: Sharon Marshall
Condolence: Today is Nov 6, 2018. Dr. Ronnie did my gastric bypass on Jan 31, 2002 @ UAB in Birmingham that is the 1st time he saved my life. GOD gave him the knowledge, heart, & compassion for others in this area of medicine. I truly Thank God for Dr. Ronnie. December 8, 2002 I went into my local hospital for a routine outpatient gallbladder surgery...I was in much more pain than I shld have been after having the "painful" gallbladder full of gallstones removed so my Dr decided to keep me for observation. I was discharged on the 12th still in so much pain that I cld not stand upright. I returned on the 13 by ambulance because my hands & feet were drawing in & I cldnt control them (like a stroke they said I didn't have) & I was sent home. Went to the Dr's office for a checkup on the 17th I was in so much pain all I cld do was scream & be toted by my husband b/c I cldnt walk (with all my heart, I know I was @ deaths door. I was admitted back into my local hosp where no one knew what was wrong. The Dr asked my husband if I wld want to be transferred back to UAB to the Dr. that did my gastric bypass my husband said a RESOUNDING YES & NOW! I had a rare hernia called a pederson's hernia....Dr. Ronnie had never done one, but had been studying them extensively "GOD" that was the 2nd day GOD & Dr. Ronnie saved my life! As a testament to God & Dr. Ronnie 16 yrs later I have NOT gained any weight back & I followed his word to the letter & I will til my last breath. I am saddened for his family of his loss & I am saddened for myself in the loss of a Dear Dear Friend. Had I known, I would have been there to pay my respects!
I have Peace in knowing what a Godly man you were & I take Peace in knowing that I will see you again someday!
To an Honorable Man love you always,
Sharon Marshall

Condolence: Dear Kim,
I would like to express my sympathy to you and your family over Ronnie's passing. I got to know him during his time at Williamson Medical Center over the past couple of years. I can tell you what a delightful individual that he was.We had some great discussions in the surgeons lounge about surgical education and some other simply fun discussions as well.
I know that it will be difficult for a while but we all are blessed that he passed our way.
Sincerely,
Cary W Pulliam MD

Condolence: Kim,
I wanted to share the special memory I have of the dinner you, Ronnie, & Wayne treated me to when I was in Nashville a couple of years ago while traveling for work. That was the best fried chicken & ice cream I've ever had, & it was mostly enjoyable due to the wonderful company that you & Ronnie were.
On behalf of our MBSAQIP team at the American College of Surgeons, we consider it an honor to have known your soulmate & best friend.
He shared with me at the time of his diagnosis that his future was secure with the Lord, & I find comfort in knowing that he is indeed at peace with his savior.
Prayers & love from the entire MBSAQIP team in Chicago~

Condolence: I am truly sorry for your loss.I always enjoyed visiting with Ronnie at surgical meetings.
When I found out he was sick again I called him to chat and he asked me to "Pray to add days to his life or to add life to his days."
That stuck with me. I know he is in a better place.

Condolence: Dear Kim, R.J., Austin, Jimmy, Roger, Spencer and Patricia:
Thank you for sharing Ronnie with us, his Vanderbilt family. The time that we had with Ronnie seems so short and ended far too soon. In addition to being a beloved family member to you, Ronnie was an outstanding surgeon and a complete physician in every way. He had a deep well of compassion for his patients and took personal responsibility for their overall well-being. In addition, he was a wonderful mentor, educator and colleague and was always willing to give his time and support to others. He led by example and encouraged everyone to share his vision of excellence.
Please know that we share your loss and grief. Ronnie will be sorely missed by all of us. Feel free to contact me if there is anything you need or any way I can help in this difficult time, or in the future.
With love and respect,
Dan Beauchamp, M.D.
