Condolence From: Sharon & Ted Cowdrey
Condolence: I have known Larry since 1987 when I bought my house in Franklin. He was recommended to me via a friend. The house is on a very steep hill and there was about 2-3 acres to bush hog. I didn't know what a bush hog was but I was up for it. When Larry showed up it was the first time I met him. I was concerned about him being able to handle the tractor and bush hog on the hill, but when I watched him the first time I knew he was a pro and could handle it. Larry quoted me a price that I thought was way too low, so I paid him more and tried to adjust accordingly over the years. We still live there and Larry came to mow a couple of months ago before he got so sick. That was the last time I saw Larry.
Over the years I got to know his story, his love of what he did, his family, and his dogs which he brought over a couple of times in the back of the truck. I only know now that Ted and I both loved Larry for the quality of person he was, how committed he was to what he did, and how much he loved his life. Ted got to know him better by running into him at the Halfway Market over the last couple of years.
I never met a person with such a positive outlook on life and a bigger smile when he saw you. I wish Faye that I could have met you over the years and your sons, but I can only imagine how proud you were of him. When he had his recent accident I had planned to drop by and see how both of you were doing, but he got better quicker than I anticipated.
Larry was a treasure to Ted and I, our neighbors who also used him to mow, and the whole community of Franklin. He will be missed greatly. He lived a life a hard life well and adjusted to everything thrown his way. I think Larry will have a tractor in heaven.

Condolence From: I. D.
Condolence: My heartfelt condolences to Ms. Faye and family during this difficult time. Our Heavenly Father Jehovah really cares for you and wants you to be comforted, as well as comfort one another. (2Corinthians1:3,4) He well knows the heavy hearts you have at this time. Because of His great love for us, He has lovingly made a provision for our loved ones to awaken from their sleep soon. At Revelation 21:3-5 we have the sure hope that when Larry awakens from his sleep, he will no longer face sickness, pain or death again. “These words are faithful and true.”

Condolence From: Ed Barrett
Condolence: Sincere condolences to Larry's lovely wife, Ms. Faye, and his entire family. The last time I saw Larry was at his retirement party that brought out so many of his old friends and co-workers from Vulcan...including many senior executives from VMC's Corporate offices who had worked with Larry over the years and wanted to express their thanks and best wishes. I also remember taking that picture of Larry one fine sunny day at his favorite "observation spot" from which he could monitor the activity at his quarry. Larry was a unique and dedicated man that didn't let adversity get him down. I am glad to have known him.
