Condolence: Dear Judy and Jay....sending good thoughts and uplifting prayers to you during this time. I read Jere's notice to mom and she asked was there a picture? When she saw the photo she said Jere was very handsome and and his smile was just as sweet as he was handsome.

Condolence: Judy, Jay and Family,

I have lost one of my best buddies. I loved Jere and Jere loved me. We went from the First Grade through our Senior year together and were never far away from one another as we were seated alphabetically for years.
Jere was always kind and helpful. Never can I remember him being unkind to anyone or getting into trouble. He was just an all around guy who followed the rules and worked hard both at school and on his paper route as a youngster. Work never scared Jere. He enjoyed his work and talked to me about the railroad and the cold nights without complaint. He loved his family. All of his family held a special place in his heart. His cousins, aunts, uncles, distant relatives he cared about. I think I know where all of them ever lived in Robertson County! We both shared the love of Adams, TN. as he had close relatives there and so do I.
Jere made it to our 50th reunion last October 2014. He stayed and visited with everyone with that sweet smile and Judy by his side. He told me then the first thing after my hug and kiss, that he had a picture that he wanted me to have made at his aunt's house on the front steps. I asked if he was sure it was me. He replied that he had known me since First grade and knew what I looked like!!! I never got the picture but knowing Jere thought of me means a lot.
All of us are better for having known Jere. He taught me (rather told me what to say) when I bought my last 2 vans how to make deals and I appreciate that.

Judy, he loved you and Jay so much. Bragging about you both when he was given the opportunity. He was proud of Jay. He loved his siblings as well.

May you all feel the peace and strength offered in the many prayers lifted for you now and in the coming days.

Judy, keep in touch with me and we will expect you to continue attending our reunions!!!

I am sad that I will not be able to attend visitation or the celebration of Jere's life. Tomorrow, I will be having surgery but I will be there in spirit on Friday.

In His Love,
Nancy
