66 Falcon

I met Mark in study hall my senior year. We sat next to each other and talked more than studied. (I know it's hard to believe.) In the spring of '73, I bought my neighbor's 1966 Falcon Sprint. It was a beauty! It was aqua, jacked up in the back, Craigar mags and had a blown engine. But for $250, what do you expect? My dad took it to Larry Murphy's garage and they proceeded to rebuild it. For $250 more, I had a dream hot rod! Now you all probably know, it was really my dad who wanted the car and I just happened to need one, so it worked out well. I loved it, but Mark loved it more. Every day, he would say, "Beth, sell me your car!" Over and over and over until he wore me down. I cannot remember why I agreed to it except his persistence. I also was a little tired of being called "Hot Rod Annie". I think Mark looked better in it, too. We reconnected when I taught school at Spring Hill Elementary, when Broc was there and he was still an amazingly happy and funny man. He was someone you just enjoyed being around. I am sure he will be greatly missed by many. Sending love to all his family and friends.
