Obituary for Mr. Jimmy L. "Jim" Shiver

Mr. Jimmy L. “Jim” Shiver, age 77, of Columbia, TN, passed away August 12, 2014. Described by his family as the “Greatest expression of unconditional love”, Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. A veteran of the United States Air Force, member of Brown’s Chapel Church of Christ, Spring Hill Masonic Lodge and a retired operating engineer with several natural gas companies.
Preceded in death by his parents, Roy & Lessie Saucer Shiver; first wife, Jennie Shiver; brothers, Edward, L.E., Bill & Joe Shiver & sister, Dorothy Sexton.
Survived by his wife, Dot Shiver of Columbia, TN; son, Jamie Anderson of Columbia, TN; daughter, Kay Winslette of Brentwood, TN; brothers, Rev. Frank (Bonnie) Shiver of Callahan, GA, Floyd Shiver of Callahan, GA & Rosco (Jane) Shiver of Cooliage, GA; sisters, Martha (Roger) Glover & Patricia (Edward) Simpson of Pelham, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly Faith (Alan) Edgar, Cassie Anderson, Todd Winslette; great grandchild, Taylor Winslette. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Robert Mac Arthur, Jacques Heibig MD, Cary Pulliam MD, Doug Kennedy, MD, and the CCU staff at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 15, 2014 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Franklin Williams officiating. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday. Burial at Spring Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers, Gary Beard, Jared Bates, Joey Shiver, Steven Glover, Casey Shiver and Shaun Glover. Honorary Pallbearers: Ray Purcell, James Cammuse, Earl McKee and members of the Spring Hill Masonic Lodge.
Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at SPRING HILL MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME. 5239 Main St., Spring Hill, TN, 931-486-0059. www.springhill-memorial.com
