Evelyn Joyce Scruggs Vaughn, age 88 of Franklin, TN went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2019. Evelyn was known for her caring and selfless ways. She was always willing to help anyone in need. She was the first traffic school guard sergeant for Franklin School District. Retired from Tennessee Baptist Convention with 20+ years of service. Member of Church of the City formerly First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, James Alexander Vaughn; parents, Vaughn and Sallie Locke Scruggs; sister, Marie McArthur. Survived by: sons, Tony (Tarenda) Vaughn, Tim (Jennie) Vaughn and Trey (Jeanene) Vaughn; grandchildren, Jared (Sara Grace) Vaughn, Jayme (Austin) Smith, Emily (Chase) Gamble, Adam Vaughn, Sarah (Clay) Reiser, Aaron (Jessica) Vaughn, Casey Vaughn and Ally Vaughn, Kevin (Lisa) Butler and Julie Butler; thirteen great grandchildren and other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Monday, April 22, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Ed Alexander and Dan Locke officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Edwards, Sonshine Sunday School Class; staff and residents of Somerby. Memorials may be made to Church of the City in honor of the Sonshine Class.
