Obituary for Betty Everson

Betty Lee McClellan Everson, loving and beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother went home to the Father February 7, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Don M. Everson, parents Jimmy and Mattie McClellan, brother J.C. and his wife Mae Evelyn, brother Cleo McClellan, and sister Dr. Billie McClellan. She is survived by her daughters Lynne (Colon) Pope, Cindy (Charlie) Kampfe, and Nan (David) Legler; grandchildren Rachel (Jeff) Lovett, Emily Pope, Michelle (Evan) Wheeler, Myers Kampfe, Matthew Ezri, and Patrick Legler; great-grandchildren Sam Lovett and Greyson Legler; sister Nita Bogle; sister-in-law Betty McClellan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Bowling Green High School (KY) and Western Kentucky University and attended Southern Baptist Seminary. She taught chemistry and math for several years before starting her family. She also served alongside her husband in pastorates in Kentucky and Florida before retiring to Bowling Green, KY and then Franklin, TN.
She was an exceptionally talented seamstress and gifted Bible teacher. She loved the Lord and trusted Him to guide her life.
The family would like to offer heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, and staff of NHC Place Cool Springs for the love and care she received the last 2 and a half years of her life and to Caris Hospice for their care in her final days.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 11am, Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Williamson Memorial with visitation an hour prior to the service.
