George Ralph Thorpe, age 78 went to be with the Lord, February 3, 2018. Formerly of Virginia and lived in Franklin, TN for 35 years. Veteran of the U.S. Army. Retired truck driver for Consolidated Freightways after 33 years of service with a driving record of 3.8 million safe miles. He was a member of Hiram Lodge #7 and Eastern Star #449. He faithfully served as Deacon with Brentwood Baptist Church. Survived by: wife of 58 years, Ruby Nell Bolding Thorpe; sisters, Judy McGeorge and Margaret Messengile; aunt, Suby Ratliff. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Gayle Haywood officiating. Entombment will be in Williamson Memorial Gardens Magnolia Mausoleum. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Moore, Harry Thompson, Randy Shedd, Bill Hannah, John Wilson and Michael Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Encouragers Sunday School Class, Deacons of Brentwood Baptist Church and retired employees of Consolidated Freightway. Memorials may be made to Hiram Lodge #7.
