I was at the Middle TN Veterans Cemetery for an interment yesterday, Feb. 9, 2018. I have met with Joe so many times as a funeral Director. He was always kind and very helpful. When Robert came out to meet me before the service was to begin, I asked where Joe was? He told me he had died. I was shocked, of course, but also very sad. Joe had always seemed like someone who was a good friend. To his family I would like to say you are in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you peace and strength for each day. I honored his life yesterday by visiting the site where he now rests in one of the most beautiful settings and surroundings anywhere in our country. A place where he was a part of the beauty and honor it represents. May God give each of you His comfort.

Joe rode with Blue Shadows Mounted Drill Team in La Crescenta. He was promoted to a Lt. during that time and helped lead a troop of 12-16 boys and girls learning to ride horses. He taught teamwork and drilling cavalry type drills. The kids loved him dearly! He was so fun to be with, such a great personality! I miss him dearly. Thank you for your service, Joe!! May you find happiness in Heaven! God bless your sweet family!
