Condolence From: Frank Butts
Condolence: Ben was unforgettable. I am an auction junkie having attended all over the U.S. from Iowa to Alaska to Missouri and most recently in Tennessee. I rank Ben Gary in my top five. The other four I have yet to discover!
I will forever remember his call for $7.50. It always sounded to me like BONANZA, BONANZA, BONANZA ..... I was always amused by his Monday evening auctions where it seemed like I was attending school and we all had a seating chart.
Of course Ben and my memories of the Gary auction house could not be separated from his helpers, and close knit family. My hope is that the Gary auction business lives on for a long time.
Mrs. Gary never made a mistake that I know of and James was a loyal sidekick that his Dad fondly once told me that his son could repair anything on the farm. I have especially enjoyed observing young Joe Spencer with his wonderful out-going (auctioneer to be) personality.
But I will always remember Ben and his distinctive auction cry.

Condolence From: Scott talksalot Smith
Condolence: Oh Mr. Ben!
The first time I drove a car was to the auction "bahn" and I never quit being an admirer of yours. You supplied generations with unique entertainment and delighted so many with your repertoire. Little children loved you and so did the elderly. And everyone in-between... Me too!
Your sterling reputation always preceded you and lives on in your wonderful family forever. Life may go on without you; however, it will never be the same. They don't make them like Mr Ben any more... And we surely could use a world filled with those right now.
Some say a person is never really gone until the last person alive stops remembering them. If that is true then "Pop" lives, lives well, and lives long!
Forever, number 21

Condolence: Bernetta, James, Julie and family:
We know first-hand that a loved one's passing is a very difficult time for those left behind, but at the same time it can also be a true blessing. Ben was certainly "one of a kind" and we know that all the wonderful memories you have will serve as a great comfort in days to come. We regret not being able to make the visitation and service, but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.
