Obituary for Karla Kay Reynolds

Karla Kay Reynolds, age 66, of Spring Hill, passed away June 21, 2015. She was born in Anna, IL to the late Karl Oliver and Edith Tompkins.
She was employed with Maritz LLC in Fenton, MO for many years where she worked diligently to become vice president of client relations. She then relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL where she worked for Willow CSN.
Her first love was serving others. After she left the corporate arena, she moved with her husband, Jack, from Cooper City, FL to Spring Hill, where she volunteered as a FLIP reading tutor for several years at Heritage Elementary School. There she earned the coveted glass apple award for Volunteer of the Year. To her students and neighbors she was known as Ms. Karla.
To her family she was known as mom or mama. She loved being with her friends and family whenever she could.
She was married to her cherished husband Jack for over 35 years, and together they set off on the adventure of a lifetime to adopt their daughter Lincy from India 32 years ago.
Mom loved the simple things in life, such as flowers blooming, chasing sunsets, and a good cup of coffee. She could make friends waiting in the checkout line of a grocery store by simply striking up a conversation and her generous spirit and kind demeanor touched everyone that knew her.
Her beloved infant son, Jamie; her grandma and grandpa, Keller (better known as Mom and Pop); her dad, Roy Tompkins; and her father-in-law, Jack H. Reynolds, Sr., preceded Karla in death. Her husband, Jack H. Reynolds, Jr.; daughter, Lincy; mother, Edith Tompkins; brother, Kevin Tompkins; sister-in-law, Susan Bryan; brother-in-law, Ronald Bryan; and her mother-in-law, Ruth Reynolds survive her, along with her treasured dog, Ralph.
